The Game

Born November 29th, 1979 as Jayceon Terrell Taylor, The Game is a West Coast hip hop artist from Compton, California who has also appeared in films and contributed his voice to video games.
The Game's music is heavily influenced by his gang-affiliated upbringing, his experiences as a drug dealer, and his appreciation for classic hip hop (which he developed while recovering in the hospital after being shot five times by an assailant in his apartment one evening in 2001).
The Game gained notoriety in 2005 with the release of his debut rap album The Documentary which reached #1 on the US Billboard Top 200 in its first week.
Originally signed to Aftermath Entertainment by Dr.
Dre as part of G-Unit, The Game signed with Geffen Records in 2006 after a dispute with fellow Aftermath Entertainment artist 50 Cent.
The Game has released five solo albums: The Documentary, Doctor's Advocate, LAX, The R.E.D.
Album, and Jesus Piece.
Three of The Game's five albums have debuted at #1 on the US Billboard Top 200 (LAX debuted at #2; Jesus Piece debuted at #6) and his song "Hate It or Love It" featuring 50 Cent was nominated for two Grammies.
The Game is credited by many music critics for returning West Coast hip hop to prominence.
