Nico Saquito

Ñico Saquito (born Benito Antonio Fernández Ortiz, Santiago de Cuba, 17 January 1901 – Havana, 04 August 1982) was a Cuban trova musician. He was a composer, guitarist and singer. [1] By the age of 15 he had already attracted attention for his songwriting, and abandoned a career in baseball to start life as a trovador. He had his own group in the 1920s, and later joined the Castillo Quartet, spending much of the 1930s touring Cuba with the group.
