Ligabue

The Italian rock singer/songwriter/actor Luciano Ligabue, A.K.A.
Ligabue, comes from the area of Correggio, Province of Reggio Emilia, Italy.
He was born in that region on March 13, 1960.
After spending his early adulthood doing odd jobs, he made his initial entry into the music industry in 1987 at the age of 27.
His first involvement came with the formation of his own band called Orazero.
As part of the band, Ligabue wrote most of the music and became the lead singer.
He was discovered in late 1989 by a record exec with WEA Italy.
The record label signed him to a record contract and sent him to the studio to record his debut album as a solo act.
The self-titled album debuted in May of 1990.
It performed quite well on the charts, reaching No.
11 on the Federazione Industria Musicale Italian after going 5-times platinum.
As his popularity began to grow in the mid 1990s, his record sales began to pickup speed.
In September of 1995, he released the first of six consecutive No.
1 albums according to the Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana.
That album, Buon compleanno Elvis, was certified as 10-times platinum and would stand as the best-selling album of his career.
While continuing his music career, Ligabue decided to venture into acting/directing in late 1998 with the release of the film RadioFreccia, for which he wrote the screenplay and directed.
In 2002, he released the No.
1 best selling album, Fuori come va?.
The album was important because it gave Ligabue his first of three No.
1 hit singles.
The song was entitled "Questa è la mia vita" and ended up certified platinum.
His other No, 1 singles were "Niente paura" (2007) and "Un colpo all'anima", which was released in 2010.
