Thomas Rhett is a country music singer that was born in Valdosta, Georgia, on March 30, 1990.
Thomas Rhett is the son of famous country singer Rhett Atkins, so he has been involved in the music world since a very young age.
Thomas Rhett began playing drums during shows for his father when he was in junior high school.
Rhett would form a band while in high school, but he would decide to focus on a solo country career after attending college.
Thomas Rhett began his music career writing songs for several high profile country music artists.
Co-writing the song "I Ain't Ready to Quit" with Jason Aldean was one of the main deciding factors in Thomas Rhett getting his own recording contract with Big Machine Records in 2011.
Rhett would take no time to release some of his own songs after signing his first record contract.
His first extended play, "Thomas Rhett", was released in August 2012.
The extended play featured several hit songs, which would help it hit number 133 on the United States music charts.
The extended play would also peak at number 24 on the country music charts.
Thomas Rhett would spend most of the next year working on new music before releasing his first full-length album, "It Goes Like This", in October of 2013.
The album featured four songs from his previous EP along with eight new songs.
"It Goes Like This" would hit number 6 in the United States and number 2 on the country music charts.
It would also peak at number 23 on the Canadian music charts.
"It Goes Like This" has currently sold around 200,000 copies.
Despite starting his own career, Thomas Rhett continues to write songs for other country music artists.
Rhett co-wrote hit singles for Jason Aldean, Lee Brice and Florida Georgia Line in 2013.
