Ahmed Sirour is a native of Brooklyn, NY, and is a self-taught keyboardist/pianist with no formal or informal training in music, learning how to play by listening to CDs on his boombox radio, practicing till he could not only duplicate the song, but also improvise his own ideas and create new songs. He later studied sound engineering, receiving his Masters degree in Audio Production from the University of Westminster in London, UK. He instrumental skills range from electric keyboard, piano percussion, and drums. His technical skill include production, composition, arrangement, writing and recording/mixing/mastering engineering.He has produced and co-produced remixes for songs by artists including John Legend & The Roots, Jay Dee/J Dilla, Eric Roberson, Jill Scott, and Yahzarah. His co-produced remix of Roberson's "Still" is the official remix for the artist's 2011 Grammy-nominated song, from the album ‘Music Fan First'. He has also worked exclusively with the world-renowned, DJ Spinna, producing four tracks, back-to-back(X2), in one month during the Summer of 2010, including a limited edition vinyl printing of the Bill Summers 1977 classic, "Brazilian Skies", pressed and distributed by BBE Records, London.Not solely a remixer, Ahmed is currently producing original music for his debut EP along with additional major projects for 2011, including his collaboration with vocalist, Cleveland Jones, for Jones' forthcoming EP, 'The Beautiful Me', and has already released a single from the project ("Sensitive"), which has already received international recognition in its first week since its release.
