Los Rabanes

StyleThe lyrical style of Los Rabanes is a mix between Panama Spanish and English.
Even if some chorus are fully or partly in English the main lyrics of the songs use to in Spanish use English only for expressing sarcasm, satire or parody, as United States had traditionally had strong influence over Panama with military interventions with the last United States invasion of Panama occurring in 1989-1990.HistoryAt the beginning of the 1990s, Emilio Regueira, Christian Torres and Javier Saavedra began playing in small pubs and bars during the weekends in Chitre, Herrera. In 1993, Alvaro Acevedo, former drummer and current manager of Los Rabanes joined the team.
This brought a reorganization that included demos and presentations in Panama City, which produced even a stronger impact than in the Central Provinces.By the year 1994, with only one demo and one theme on the radio.
Later that year, they joined the first ever made "Rock Nacional" tour, which included all the rock bands from Panama.Los Rabanes have worked with reggaeton artists like Don Omar, Aldo Ranks and Ñejo & Dalmata and with Dancehall artists like Kafu Banton & Fidel NadalThey also worked with reggaeton producer El Chombo in a song that was featured in the album Los Cuentos De La Cripta.Their album Kamikaze won the Latin Grammy Award for rock album by a duo or group with vocal in 2007.
