Paul D. Brown is a Musician/Composer/Producer from Canada. He is a multi-instrumentalist on guitar, bass and keyboards who writes and produces music. Paul's latest album, ‘Sunburst World‘, features a selection of his recent guitar and bass improvisations and is available now worldwide.
Paul was born in Victoria, B.C, Canada and grew up in Killaloe, Ontario. He began playing piano, bass and guitar at a young age, and was especially drawn to the bass guitar. Whilst in high school he started playing in bands, and in North Bay he performed live on bass in the bands: Rhythm Slaves and Higher Ground - playing a variety of venues, opening for acts such as Colin James and Wyld T. It was at this time Paul began recording his songs and compositions on a 4-track, in a wide array of musical styles including funk tracks, rock, jazz and experimental soundscapes.
In 1993, Paul moved to Toronto and attended the Humber College Music Program as a bass and arranging major, graduating in 1997 with honours. Whilst at Humber he played in various jazz ensembles and the 15-piece R&B group, The Bluejackets Required, writing arrangements and playing bass. In Toronto, Paul performed with several funk bands as lead singer/guitarist, including The Downstroke, performing in some of the biggest venues in Toronto, Ontario, Quebec and the US. He also produced many tracks for various artists, film and television. Paul has released classic albums such as: Cosmic Love, Sound and the Mystic Village ‘Emerge' album (with Mike Conto). Paul's self-styled music transcends cultural and genre boundaries, spanning and blending a diverse range of musical styles, having drawn inspiration from a variety of musical traditions. Presently, Paul is vibe-ing and creating some new music.
