Formed in 2002, the Swiss duo RE distills an abstract hip-hop sound in the line of the British labels Ninja Tune or Warp.
Their universe is tinted by multiple electronic effects tracing complex moods evolving around cold mechanics, a war-like temperament and futuristic poetry.
Coming from the hip-hop movement in its freest form, RE released in more than 10 years two albums on the Jarring Effects label, numerous EP, as well as singles or remix works (with, among others, OY, Talen or Xewin).
The duo collaborated with artists such as Blu Rum 13 (acolyte of DJ Vadim), M.
Sayyid (Antipop Consortium), Mike Ladd (Likemadd, Big Dada), .not to mention B.
Dolan (Sage Francis) and notably warming up the stages of Paleo., Montreux Jazz Festival, Les Nuits Sonores, Electron Festival, Bar En Trans, Avant Art Festival at Wroclaw as well as at the Electro-Mechanica Festival at Saint Petersburg.
