213

213 is an American hip hop supergroup from Long Beach, California consisting of Snoop Dogg, Warren G and Nate Dogg.
The name "213" comes from Los Angeles' original telephone area code.
Whilst Calvin Broadus adopted the stage name of 'Snoop Doggy Dogg', followed by 'Snoop Dogg', (and then 'Snoop Lion' more recently), Warren G hints that Broadus' stage name, when he first started rapping in the 213 at clubs and parties, was in fact 'Snoop Rock'.
In his single "Do You See" on his debut album Regulate...G Funk Era, Warren G reminisces "back when [his\] nigga's name was Snoop Rock".Their first appearance on a commercially released song was "Deeez Nuuuts", from Dr.
Dre's multi-platinum solo debut album The Chronic.
Each member had minor roles in the song, with Warren G, Snoop Dogg, and Nate Dogg appearing on the intro, chorus, and outro of the song respectively.
Their breakthrough song was the minor hit "Ain't No Fun (If the Homies Can't Have None)" from Snoop Dogg's solo debut Doggystyle, which also featured Kurupt of Tha Dogg Pound. In 2004 they released the album The Hard Way, which reached #4 in the U.S.
Billboard 200 charts.
It featured the singles, "Groupie Luv" and "So Fly".On March 15, 2011, Nate Dogg died in Long Beach, California, from complications of multiple strokes.
