Adonis

ADONIS is a five-piece Lebanese pop/folk band.
With its engaging lyrics, festive tunes and playful arrangement, the band, despite its young age, is becoming a voice for today's educated, ambitious, critical, free-thinking, and well-networked Arab youth.
Just like its predecessors Soap Kills, Mashrou Leila, Meen, etc… ADONIS, at first an online sensation, has later participated in major concerts and festivals across Lebanon, and played in the most prestigious venues around Beirut and Egypt. Released in 2011, the band's debut album, ‘Daw L Baladiyyi', is an eclectic corpus of 11 songs that tell the stories, adventures and loves of a young romantic through specific places and objects of his city.
Two years later, ‘Stouh Adonis', ‘Daw L Baladiyyi', ‘Sawt L Madini', amongst other titles from the disc, are still widely popular and extensively played in Lebanon and the region.
In December 2012, the band launched, in collaboration with director Jad Shwery, the ‘Fi Zini Ktir' project.
The video clip for their Christmas track ‘Fi Zini Ktir' featured local artists and celebrities lipsynching to the song's lyrics.
All proceeds from the project went to the ‘Home of Hope' NGO.
The band is now about to release its much anticipated second album.
The launching concert, taking place in Beirut Souks on August 18, will mark the closing of the prestigious "Beirut Holidays" festival that will line-up through August the biggest names in local and regional entertainment.
