Sylvain Richard est né à Nantes (Loire-Atlantique) le 17 février 1979.
Rappeur et DJ, il se fait connaitre en tant que 20syl comme membre d'Hocus Pocus avec qui il sort quatre albums de 1996 à 2010.
Également membre du collectif de DJ C2C, 20syl participe en 2012 au succès phénoménal de l'albumTetra.
Producteur et remixeur, 20syl travaille avec des artistes comme King Krule, Rihanna, Diam's ou Disiz.
En juin 2014, 20syl sort son premier travail entièrement personnel avec l'EPMotifsoù apparaissent Ibrahim Maalouf et Rita J.
