There are at least two bands/artists with the name (band name) Dr. John. (1) Malcolm John "Mac" Rebennack, Jr. (born November 21, 1940), better known by the stage name Dr. John (also Dr. John Creaux), is an American singer-songwriter, pianist and guitarist whose music combines blues, boogie woogie and rock and roll. Dr. John has been making his own idiosyncratic music since the 1960s. Along with Professor Longhair, Dr. John is heir to the rich New Orleans tradition.
