Patrick Houston (born February 8, 1973), better known as Project Pat is an American rapper originating from Memphis, Tennessee.
He is the older brother of Juicy J, the co-founder of Three 6 Mafia.Music beginnings and Ghetty GreenAlthough Houston's debut studio album Ghetty Green did not propel him to superstar status, it did establish him within the growing southern hip hop community.2000-01: Mista Don't Play: Everythangs Workin'After serving 4 years for a gun charge Houston broke onto the mainstream hip hop scene after providing the hook for Three 6 Mafia's hit single "Sippin' on Some Syrup" in 2000.
Houston released his breakthrough second studio album Mista Don't Play: Everythangs Workin', the most successful album ever for an independent artist on the Hypnotize Minds label.
The album went to sell over 900,000 copies making it certified platinum.2002-06: Layin' Da Smack Down and Crook by da Book: The Fed StoryHis third album Layin' Da Smack Down was released during Houston's incarceration.
In 2006 he released Crook by da Book: The Fed Story which came in on #64 on the Billboard 200, selling about 40,000 copies in its first week.
The first single off the album was "Good Googly Moogly" featuring DJ Paul & Juicy J from Three 6 Mafia.2007-11: Walkin' Bank Roll, Real Recognize Real & Loud PackAfter Houston was released from his deal with Columbia Records he signed with Koch Records, now known as E1 Music.
His fifth studio album Walkin' Bank Roll was released in 2007 and debuted at number 45 on the Billboard 200.
The lead single from the album was "Don't Call Me No Mo'" featuring Three 6 Mafia.
His sixth studio album Real Recognize Real was his first major release for the label Asylum Records.
The album featured the hit single "Keep It Hood" featuring OJ da Juiceman.
It debuted at #8 on the Top Rap Albums Chart, with about 8,800 copies sold in the first week of release.
On July 19, 2011 Houston released his 7th studio album Loud Pack on Hypnotize Minds & his newly founded label Project Records.2012-present: Mixtapes, Taylor Gang Records & Mista Don't Play 2On March 28, 2013 Houston announced that his next album Mista Don't Play 2 would be released through Wiz Khalifa's label Taylor Gang Records.
The album will also be released by E1 Music, the first single will be "Be A G", and feature Juicy J, along with the late Doe B.
Juicy J is also producing half of the album.Legal issuesIn 2001, he was arrested for parole violation after a pair of revolvers were discovered in his vehicle during a traffic stop.
That March, he was sentenced to four years in prison on two counts of a felon in possession of a firearm.
