Chromatics
Chromatics se forme en 2002 à Portland (Oregon).
D'abord quatuor mené par Adam Miller (chant, guitare, composition), Chromatics évolue vers une formation en trio avec Ruth Radelet (chant) et Johnny Jewel (claviers, guitare, programmation).Coma téléviséChromatics est visiblement très influencé par les groupes new-yorkais des années 80, le nom Chromatics est inspiré des Comateens, quant à Johnny Jewel, son nom provient du titre du mythique premier titre de Television «Little Johnny Jewel».
De telles références donnent une musique forcément hypnotique.Route de nuitChromatics sort trois albums, avec à chaque fois un personnel différent, Chrome Rats vs.
Basement Rutz (2003), Plaster Hounds (2004) et Night Drive (2007) qui permettent au groupe de se produirre dans le circuit des clubs.
New-Yorkais jusqu'au bout des cordes, Chromatics poursuit son ambition tout en jetant un coup d'oeil dans le rétroviseur des années new wave, comme vient le confirmer le quatrième album Kill for Love livré en juin 2012.
Après Kate Bush sur l'opus précédent (« Running Up That Hill »), c'est au tour de Neil Young de se voir repris à la sauce Chromatics avec « Into the Black ».
