Weekend
At least five bands have used this name: 1. Weekend is a group formed in 1981 by ex-Young Marble Giants' vocalist Alison Statton, with Simon Booth (guitar) and Spike Williams (guitar & viola). They were one of the first bands, in the early 80s, to mix pop with jazz. They released just one studio album ('La Variete') and one live mini-LP ('Live At Ronnie Scott's') on Rough Trade Records before disbanding in 1983. 2. Weekend is a punk/shoegaze/psychedelic band from San Francisco, CA. Their debut 10" was released on Mexican Summer records in December 2009 to favorable reviews.
