The Interns History:The Justin Bell Band announced at the end of the show on 4-2-11 at Port City Cafe & Pub in Portsmouth OH; they would now be using the name the "Interns".
Band Members have remained the same.
Only the Band Name has changed.
The Justin Bell Band formed in November 2010, the members of the Band have shared a common purpose: to play, make enjoyable music, and foremost have fun.
The three young men from Southern Ohio in their very early twenties: Justin Bell, Andrew Ginn, and Jacob Ankrom.
Above all they are great friends and have lived as neighbors for many years.
They also attended the same middle and high school.
The three have grown up together into young men.
They have helped each other through typical teenage drama, shared the same friends, and always shared the same love of listening, playing, and making music.
They have mostly been playing cover songs and songs Justin has written.
The Band is currently working to create new music and sounds in addition to playing gigs close to their home town due to all three being working college students.
They create a unique sound from cover songs and make them their own.
Their original songs continue to develop with influences that include Stevie Ray Vaughan, Beatles, Eric Clapton, Ray Lamontagne, Mumford and Sons and countless other wonderful musicians.
Justin had been playing solo for select performances for two years while sometimes having a friend join in on songs.
These experiences of having others accompany him lead to a desire for Justin to play with a band, adding additional elements that a solo act could not achieve.
This Band of Brothers (Close Friends) formed the Justin Bell Band.
From Justin:I've been playing guitar for almost 11 years.
During this time I have been in a few bands as well, although each band has included the same drummer.
My influences come from many different artists who cover many different styles from Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Beatles, Trent Reznor and AC/DC.
I enjoy spending time in the self-help section of the bookstore, I found a dollar once there and have been going back ever since.
From Andrew:I've been playing drums since I was in third grade.
I played in my high school marching band for seven years.
My biggest influences are Nirvana, The Beatles, Dave Matthews Band, and Green Day.
I'm pretty good at playing guitar too....well Guitar Hero, but it's all the same.
I'm also part of a photography firm called "Alejandro and Acorn Man Enterprises" From Jacob: I'm the bass player.
Some of the major influences in my playing include Paul McCartney, and Tony Garnier.
I'm also heavily influenced by the garage rock scene from the 1960's.
If you ask me nicely, I might serenade you with my bass.
I don't enjoy cool walks on the beach, but I do enjoy a good stroll through Chicago in subzero temperatures.
