Shakatak are a London based band who gained success during the 80s with an infectious blend of jazz/funk and pop. Band members include Bill Sharpe (keyboards), Roger Odell (Drums),George Anderson (Bass) and vocals by Jill Saward. Most of their singles only reached the low end of the UK's top 75 charts but they did score two top ten hits with Night Birds (1982) and Down On The Street (1984). One of the many highlights was the collaboration with Al Jarreau on the track Day by Day (1984 ).
