He was a participant in the first emission from "La Academia", a Mexican reality show based on a talent competition and training for the new singers. Along with his fellow "academics" Yahir (also featured on last.fm), Myriam, Estrella, Nadia, Miguel Angel, Raúl Sandoval, María Inés, he gained popularity and launched his career in 2001 and has steadily earned his place in the Mexican "banda" music market.
