Kymaera
Kymaera was raised on music, began making cassette tapes and later collecting vinyl.
He was fascinated by dance music from an early age, and a deep and profound love of hiphop and jazzy styles of music.
He was sneaking into gigs before it was legal to do so, and had older friends who gave him beers and a musical education.
Kymaera's DJ sets will include a wide variety of musical styles and tempos, expect to hear a smooth blend of Drum n Bass, Dubstep/Futurebass, HipHop, Breaks, and Reggae.
His first gigs were at the musical mecca of e55, an eclectic underground bar in Melbourne's CBD.
He was playing here when a new night started, Bass Art, and became a big part of this crew, which is known for being an amazing collection of DJ's spinning smooth and sexy bass music.
Kymaera also created his own monthly night "Cosmic Empire", a night dedicated to underground music and turntablism, which features the creme de la creme of Melbourne's bass DJs as regular guests.
Kymaera has supported Audio (Virus UK), Kid Kenobi (AUS), and played at some big nights such as Wobble, In:Session, The Big Shabangabang, Undead Riddims, and more.
Kymaera is a producer who definately has his own style and brings something fresh to the bass music scene which has a lot of copycats.
His productions offer a journey into the deeper side of bass, painting pictures with sound and taking the listener to places that warm the soul.
His sound his sometimes dark, sometimes uplifting, but always drenched with atmospheres which immerse totally.
He uses a digital audio system, as well as analog synthesis and recording techniques to create a range of music from Drum n Bass to Dubstep and TripHop.
