Go Back To The Zoo

Go Back to the Zoo is a young Amsterdam-based band, consisting of the brothers Teun (guitar) and Cas (guitar and vocals) Hieltjes, and their best friends Bram Kniest (drums) and Lars Kroon (bass).
Teun and Cas, who had been making music ever since their grandmothergave them a Guns ‘n' Roses album, knew Bram from high school.
While standing in the lineto get tickets for a secret Strokes gig at 4 am, they met Lars.
It didn't take long before they found out they had a shared passion for pop songs with an edge and bands like the Rolling Stones, Velvet Underground, early-Kings of Leon and ofcourse the Strokes. It soon became clear that Lars, in spite of the fact that he never touched a guitar before, would become the bass player.
Out of friendship Go Back To The Zoo was born, and even beforereleasing an album they quickly became successful in Holland.
Two of their single releases became ‘Single of the Week' on 3FM, the biggest and most influential radio station of the Netherlands. They got signed to Universal Music and in August 2010 they released their debut album 'Benny Blisto', which entered the charts at nr 3.
Last summer they played at over 60 festivals in the Netherlands and Germany, and the club tour that followed in fall was completely soldout months in advance.
At the moment, Go Back To The Zoo is playing their second and larger club tour (which is also Sold Out) and expanding their territory.
