DVBBS

The electronic duo known as DVBBS (pronounced 'dubs') is comprised of brothers Christopher (stage name Christopher Chronic) and Alexandre (stage name Alex Andre) van den Hoef.
Christopher (January 1990) and Alex (October 1991) were both born in Ontario, Canada.
The brothers' early musical influences were punk, reggae and rock, especially artists such as Blink 182, Sublime and Rancid.
They also began learning to play instruments relatively early, with Alex focusing on guitar and vocals, while Chris gravitated towards percussion.
They began experimenting with EDM (electronic digital music), eventually creating their own sub-genre, a unique blend of traditional pop instrumentation with beats that they called "Woozy." After two months in the studio, they released their debut EP, Initio, in March 2012.
Their sound quickly resonated with listeners, and they gained additional exposure from appearances on the Canadian reality series, MTV's Discovered.
But it was their collaboration with Borgeous (featuring Tinie Tempah) on the single "Tsunami" in August 2013 that elevated their fortunes dramatically.
The single topped charts throughout Europe, and led to them appearing with such artists as Steve Aoki, Calvin Harris, LMFAO and many others.
The success of "Tsunami" also led to their first headlining tour, as well as a second charting single, "Stampede".
The brothers relocated to Los Angeles for easier access to the exploding EDM industry, spending the majority of their time (when not touring or making appearances) in the studio.
A 2014 single, "Gold Skies," made a minor splash on the charts, and while their popularity remains the highest in European markets such as the Netherlands, Belgium and Great Britain, as well as in their native Canada, they are poised to make major inroads in the U.S., their newly adopted "home".
