The Phenomenal Handclap Band
Daniel Collás (producteur, claviers, chant) et Sean Marquand (producteur, claviers) sont à l'origine deux DJs new-yorkais.
Leur passion pour le rare groove des années 70 et les bizareries sonores en tous genres, les conduit à former The Phenomenal Handclap Band.
Ils sont rejoints par Patrick Wood (batterie, chant), Luke O'Malley (guitare, chant), Bing Ji Ling (guitare, chant), Laura Marin (chant, percussions), Joan Tick (chant, percussions) et Pier Pappalardo (basse) pour former cet étonnant collectif.The Phenomenal Handclap Band c'est au choix la suite des aventures de Tom Tom Club marié à Joe Bataan ou encore, comme ils le disent eux-mêmes, Carlos Santana remixé par un androïde.
L'album The Phenomenal Handclap Band sort en juin 2009 et vient concrétiser un "buzz" intense de plusieurs mois.
Effectivement le résultat est une collision insensée entre rap, latino, electro, guitares rock années 70, funk et des relents de fête hippie, Woodstock condensé en un CD.
